The Vancouver Canucks have some players they should be looking to move if they get the right deal

Daily Faceoff: Irfaan Gaffar, on what the Vancouver Canucks could do this offseason. Who they should be looking to move?

Tyler Yaremchuk: “What’s your best guess on what they get up to over the next three to five days here? And I guess because I saw this one pop up, any chance Filip Hronek has a change of heart and says, you know what, fine, I’ll move?”

Gaffar: “I think if the Canucks get a deal that they absolutely love, they have to take it to him. You, you can’t not. I’m sorry, you can’t.

And I think that there’s three players to look at for the Vancouver Canucks, right now, Jake DeBrusk. I think that’s the obvious one. I think he will be moved here at some point.

Elias Pettersson, that one’s a little bit more difficult to move, just because of the size of the contract and what you would have to bring back. I think the Canucks would move mountains to try and get off that deal. I really do. If they get a deal that they like for that player, I think that it would be in the interest of both parties to absolutely do that.

And then you’re right about Filip Hronek. I think that if they get something that they love, he’s probably your best asset. You’re at least getting a first-round pick for this player. If you get something like that in front of you.

Now what I know is that they haven’t had an offer for any of their players yet. We’re now draft day morning now here in Vancouver, right around 9:30. No offers for any of their players that they have yet, but obviously that could change.

I think that one, getting off contracts is good in changing the culture in that room. Still, I think that there still needs to be people that moved out, that have moved out of that room. And you still need to get some fresh new voices, kind of to grow with all the young guys.
