The start of 2015-16 playoffs are almost here. As a lead up to it, we’ve decided to take a look at the top 10 active playoff leading scorers heading into this year’s playoffs.
There are currently only 13 active players who have recorded a hundred points or more. Ryan Getzlaf is at 94 points and has a good chance to hit the century mark this year. It would take a really good run by someone else to hit the 100 point plateau.
Jonathan Toews sits outside the top 10 at number 11, but he is very likely to move up the list after this year with another expected run by the Blackhawks.
Joe Thornton is another one of the 13 players who has recorded at least a hundred points that has a shot of moving up the list into and possibly into the 10. He might have to pass one of his teammates thought to do so.
It’s not really a surprise that no defensemen are in the top 10. Dan Boyle is currently leading active defensemen in playoff scoring with 80 points in 126 games. Duncan Keith is next in line with 75 points in 116 games. Other active defensemen that are in the top 50 are Zdeno Chara, Brent Seabrook, Kris Letang, Drew Doughty and Niklas Kronwall.
