The Boston Bruins have traded right winger Reilly Smith and Marc Savard’s contract to the Florida Panthers for right winger Jimmy Hayes.
The 24-year old Smith was drafted 69th overall in the third round of the 2009 draft by the Stars. The carries a $3.425 million cap hit for two more years.
The 25-year old Hayes was drafted 60th overall in the second round of the 2008 draft by the Maple Leafs. Hayes is an RFA.
Savard carries a $4 million cap hit for the next two years but a salary of $575,000.
