Trade: Hurricanes Send Andrej Sekera to Kings For a 1st and Prospect

The Carolina Hurricanes have traded defenseman Andrej Sekera to the Los Angeles Kings for a 2015 conditional 1st round pick and prospect Roland McKeown.

Elliotte Friedman: If the Kings make the playoffs this year, the Hurricanes get the first round pick this year. If they miss the playoffs, the Hurricanes get the pick in 2016.

Pierre LeBrun: There was no salary retained in the deal.

The 28-year old Sekera was drafted 71st overall in the third round of the 2004 draft by the Sabres. He carries a $2.75 million salary cap hit.

The 19-year old McKeown was drafted 50th overall in the 2nd round of the 2014 draft by the Kings.
