The New York Rangers have traded winger Lee Stempniak to the Winnipeg Jets for Carl Klingberg.

The 32-year old Stempniak was drafted 148th overall in the 5th round of the 2003 draft by the Blues. He carries a $900,000 salary cap hit.

The 24-year old Klingberg was drafted 34th overall in the 2009 draft by the Thrashers.

Pat Leonard: The Rangers moved $900,000 in salary as Klingberg’s $650,000 won’t count against the cap if he’s in the AHL.
