- Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Source saying the NHL Department of Player Safety will review Brad Marchand’s hit on Mark Borowiecki.The play happened in the first period last night. Borowiecki was shaken up, but returned to the game. There was no penalty on the play.
“It was a simple play. I mean, I was trying to get to the puck carrier, and I turned up ice,” said Marchand. “He was kind of standing there. I just turned up and tried to go to the puck carrier.”
Marchand has a history of supplementary discipline, as he was suspended for five games in 2011-12 for a similar hit on Sami Salo. Marchand has also been fined one and suspended for two games for slewfooting.
