Hockey Central panel discusses whether the Hurricanes will trade Tuomo Ruutu by the trade deadline. The 30-year old Ruutu has two years left on his deal, with a salary cap hit of $4.75 million.
Gord Stellick thinks possible destinations are: remaining with Hurricanes or going to the Red Wings, Wild and Jets. The Hurricanes may have to retain some salary. Neil Smith can’t see any GM taking on Ruutu’s contract, but adds the Jets as a possible destination as maybe with Paul Maurice coaching there, he may see the value.
