Elliotte Teaford of the OC Register: Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson didn’t come out for the second period in last night’s game against the Sharks.

“We’ll have more of an assessment when we get home, probably in the days to come,” Coach Randy Carlyle said.

Hinostroza close to returning

Dave Vest: Arizona Coyotes forward Vinnie Hinostroza skated yesterday but remains day-to-day. Coach Rick Tocchet:  “Maybe we’ll get him back in the lineup in the next game or the game after. We’ll see.”

Gaudreau takes a slash from Byfuglien

Ken Wiebe: Calgary Flames Johnny Gaudreau took a slash from Dustin Byfuglien and headed to the room in pain with 2:06 left in the game.

Chiasson’s x-rays negative

Daniel Nugent-Bowman: Edmonton Oilers coach Ken Hitchcock said that x-rays for Alex Chiasson were negative. He took a puck off the knee and is sore.

Carter day-to-day

Jon Rosen: Los Angeles Kings forward Jeff Carter missed night’s game with an upper-body injury and is listed as day-to-day.

Dumba’s recovery

Chris Hine: Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau wasn’t sure if Matt Dumba’s three month recovery time is when he’ll be able to start skating or before he can play. Broudreau: “I’m afraid to ask that question.”

Subban and Arvidsson activated

Nashville Predators: The Preds activated defenseman P.K. Subban and forward Viktor Arvidsson from the IR and placed defenseman Yannick Weber on the IR.

Pacioretty and Miller not skating

David Schoen: Vegas Golden Knights forward Max Pacioretty and defenseman Colin Miller are not skating yet.
