The Los Angeles Kings lost Anze Kopitar to retirement after last season and are a little thin down the middle. They are going to try a winger at center during camp to see if that works. There has been speculation of their interest in Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson for a while now, and Pettersson hasn’t helped the situation by buying a house in Los Angeles. But his trade value isn’t high given his contract and recent struggles. The Canucks are looking to get him back on track before they make a final decision on him.

Pagnotta: “I think, I think if, if the price drops and you know the opportunity is there. I think Ken Holland and company would pounce on that. The interest was real. I don’t know where it stands right now because the Kings, for the time being, are going to practice with having Adrian Kempe at center, and Byfield being the 2C.
The Canucks have taken an approach with him, especially with the Sedin’s, where they want to get him obviously back on track. I mean, that’s the Captain Obvious statement. But the Sedin’s, my understanding of, you know, and, and whatever player development that they’ve got, working with Elias Pattersson to get him back on track.
And, and we know that Johnson made those comments the other day with respect to providing a right environment for Petey.
I think it’s not just that; it’s just, I think it’s more so geared towards the right environment in terms of getting him back to where he was may not necessarily be a 100-point guy again, but can you get him back to point a game pace?
