The Philadelphia Flyers haven’t had talks with a pending RFA and UFA yet
Andrew Knoll of RG Media: Philadelphia Flyers GM Danny Briere said there are no talks going on right now with pending RFA forward Matvei Michkov and pending UFA defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen. Briere added that at some point there will be talks.

On Connor Hellebuyck’s trade request going public
The Sheet with Jeff Marek: David Pagnotta, on the Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets situation.
Marek: “This is no secret. This has existed on the barking chain and the whisper circles, all of it around the NHL. But was there a part of Dave Pagnotta that said, that’s an interesting tactic, going public with, with the trade request here?”
Pagnotta: “Yeah, it’s from their perspective, I totally understand it. From the player side, from Hellebuyck and his agent side. Because they anticipated something happening, well, round draft.
You know, the request took place, you know, at the end of the season, and in, or end of the season/early May, somewhere in between there. And I don’t get the sense that when the request was initially made, that (Jets GM Kevin) Cheveldayoff and company in Winnipeg said, “Okay, we hear you. We’ll, you know, we’re going to pull the trigger on something relatively soon.”
But I think the notion was we’re going to try to make this happen and accommodate this as soon as possible before it really gets out there. And you know, you don’t want to have something overblown. And we saw to an extent how that can be against a player in Detroit with Dylan Larkin, and the fans kind of shifting their attention against him.

They didn’t want that to happen with, with Hellebuck and Winnipeg because he did genuinely enjoy his time there, but things haven’t gone the way that, that he anticipated. Plus some of the other things you were talking about too.
So, am I surprised by it? No. Do I like it? I’m kind of indifferent, but I understand why it was made at the time because it still gave them three-plus weeks of leeway before camps get underway.”
