NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators – Ryan Dzingel and Cody Ceci

Once the Matt Duchene and Mark Stone situations are resolved, the Ottawa Senators will turn their full attention to Ryan Dzingel and Cody Ceci.
Dzingel waiting on Stone and Duchene?

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: It is believed that Ottawa Senators have already made an offer to Ryan Dzingel, and it obviously hasn’t been signed yet.

It seems doubtful that he’ll be around after the deadline.

The Senators are looking to get a first-round pick for Dzingel and would likely get one for him.

One executive noted that Dzingel maybe not signing the deal as he’s hoping he could get more from the Senators if they trade Matt Duchene and Mark Stone.

The Boston Bruins are keeping an eye on Dzingel and his hometown Chicago Blackhawks could be a fit. The Blackhawks might be wanting to make a smaller move.

Ceci could also be on the move

Chris Nichols of Nichols on Hockey: Elliotte Friedman on NHL Network could see the Ottawa Senators possibly moving defenseman Cody Ceci, and that the Tampa Bay Lightning could be a team interested.

“Yes, I do see Cody Ceci as a guy who could be potentially moved,” indicated Friedman. “Right-hand shot defensemen are always looked for out there. I don’t know if it’ll be specifically him, but Tampa Bay is a team that’s been looking for a right-hand shot D, and he’s the kind of guy.

“The thing that really makes sense with a guy like a Ceci in Tampa is he doesn’t have a contract for next year. So Tampa is going to have some big salary cap issues, so he’s the kind of guy they could acquire and then move if they decided they want to do that.”
