On Paul Stastny …
Andy Strickland: Hearing that the Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche are at the top of the list as eventual destinations for Paul Stastny.
Mike McIntyre: Think the Jets would like to be able to bring Stastny back but they would need to find a way to move some salary out.
Adrian Dater: Have been hearing the Montreal Canadiens instead of the Winnipeg Jets. Avalanche in the mix.
On the Minnesota Wild …
Michael Russo of The Athletic: The Wild have made a big draft day trade in five years, but have a history of making them shortly after the draft.
A source is saying GM Paul Fenton will meet the agents for pending RFAs Jason Zucker and Matt Dumba at the draft this week. Fenton will see if he can find any takers for Tyler Ennis before he has to decide whether to buy him out or not.
The Wild could look to add more scoring up front, improving at center and at right wing. They could also look at getting bigger and tougher on the blue line.
Players that could be moved that would need to be replaced include Nino Niederreiter, Zucker, Eric Staal, Jonas Brodin or Dumba.
Looking at some players the Wild could look at acquiring. Some may work, others wouldn’t for a variety of reason.
