- James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail: Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke is expected to meet with Tomas Kaberle’s agent this week to see if he would accept a trade. Kaberle had this say this morning,
“I haven’t heard anything about that yet,” he said. “Obviously if something comes up, you guys going to be the first to know. Every year is the same, you know? There’s going to be a lot of talk, especially towards the end.
“Like I said, if something comes up, you guys going to know about it. I’m just going to focus on the games.”
- John Shannon via twitter: Rick Curran told Shannon, “will put to rest any rumors…there’s no ‘list of teams.”
- Brian Huddle via twitter: Doug MacLean said that Brian Burke has asked for a list of teams Kaberle would accept a trade too.
- Jonas Siegel of AM 640: Burke hasn’t and won’t ask Kaberle to waive his no-trade clause, but he will ask for a list of teams, like he did last year at the deadline.
- Michael Traikos of the National Post: Day 1 of the Tomas Kaberle trade watch, and will likely be an ongoing topic until the deadline day. 27 more days to go.
