Keith Yandle will be the top unrestricted free agent defenseman on the market on July 1st as it doesn’t appear the New York Rangers will be able to re-sign him.
The 29-year will be looking for a long-term deal, likely in the $6 million per season range. Given the their current cap situation, it would be hard to bring him back close to that number.
Yandle finished the season with five goals and 42 assists for 47 points in 82 games.
Yandle didn’t see top-pairing minutes this season, on the 3rd pairing for awhile, but he still managed 22 points at even strength.
Teams needing power play help, and have the cap space could come calling.
