Rumors out of Russia have the 29-year old (30 in July) Alexander Radulov wanting to return to the NHL. He’s rejected offers from CSKA, but they are still hoping to re-sign him. Now, does he really want to return to the NHL and play for less money, or is it all just posturing by him?
There is no doubting that Radulov is talented, possibly the second most skilled among UFA forwards, but his commitment level may keep some away. Talk is that he may only want to play for a contender.
Radulov has basically spent the past eight seasons in the KHL – he had a brief 17 game NHL stint (nine regular season, eight playoffs – four goals and nine assists) four years ago.
In 391 career KHL games, he’s scored 169 goals, added 323 assists for 492 points – 1.26 PPG. In 154 NHL games he scored 47 goals, with 55 assists for 102 points – 0.66 PPG.
