Adam Vingan of the Tennessean: Defenseman P.K. Subban took part in the Predators full practice yesterday. It was his second full practice in the past three days. Coach Peter Laviolette wouldn’t say if Subban could play tonight, but it’s a sign that he’s close to returning from his upper-body injury. GM David Poile on Tuesday.
“P.K. is looking good,” Predators general manager David Poile told 102.5-FM on Tuesday. “He’s doing more and more each day. … I’m not sure there’s a chance he’ll play on this road trip … but I’m sort of looking at (Jan. 24 against Buffalo), our (first) home game back (from the five-game road trip). That could be a good date if everything continues the way it is right now.”
On the Los Angeles Kings …
Jon Rosen of the LA Kings Insider: Forward Tyler Toffoli originally suffered his lower-body injury on December 20th against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was on the ice at the end of their morning skate yesterday.
“It was just to get a feel for the ice,” he said. “It’s been a while, so it was nice to get back out there and it was good to get a feel for it.”
Coach Darryl Sutter yesterday on the initial time frame the coaches received on Toffoli’s injury.
“Once we came back and had the doctor’s evaluation we were told a three-to-six week time frame, so yesterday was four weeks, so we thought he’d be a little further ahead, but at the same time, there’s a fine line between the healing and the training,” he said.
