Jonathan Bombulie of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review: Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury hasn’t played since January 14th. Matt Murray has started the Penguins past six games. GM Jim Rutherford will have to decide on their goaltending situation before the expansion draft in June, or possibly before the trade deadline.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know if anything will happen,” Fleury said. “I’ll just try to enjoy my days here and be ready when I have a chance to play. There’s still a lot of hockey to play before that deadline. I guess we’ll see.”
Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: (chat) With Matt Murray taking over the starting position and their goalie of the future, the Penguins will do whatever they can to not lose him in the expansion draft. Marc-Andre Fleury has a limited no-trade clause. There has been no indication that the Penguins are shopping Fleury. Molinari thinks there are enough teams that could use an upgrade in net and that there should be a market for him.
