On Calvin de Haan …
Pierre LeBrun: Calvin de Haan was still undecided and they are being patient. Some of the teams that were in on John Tavares showed interest in de Haan. Has other interest as well.
Brian Lawton: Have heard that de Haan has narrowed his list down to four teams – New York Islanders, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils and the Dallas Stars. He could sign a multi-year deal today.
David Pagnotta: The Maple Leafs, Islanders, Canadiens, Kings, Devils and others have shown some interest in de Haan. He has offers on the table, and has turned down on long-term offer.
On Patrick Maroon …
Jim Matheson: Can’t see Patrick Maroon looking for less than David Perron money – maybe three or four years at $4 million.
On the Carolina Hurricanes …
Mike Maniscalco: GM Don Waddell doesn’t anticipate making any other changes. Adds that they still have to sign RFA Trevor van Riemsdyk.
On the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens …
Dan Kingerski: Had been told at the draft that if the Montreal Canadiens were not able to trade for Ryan O’Reilly, they could turn to Penguins center Derick Brassard. That was from a Canadiens source two weeks ago, and not saying there have been trade talks.
On the San Jose Sharks …
Curtis Pashelka: GM Doug Wilson said that they are in a good position to add via a trade going forward.
On the St. Louis Blues …
Jeremy Rutherford: Blues GM Doug Armstrong said adding a winger like Patrick Maroon is still possible, but they would have to get creative. The Blues have about $8.4 million in salary cap space with five remaining restricted free agents – Robby Fabbri, Dmitrij Jaskin, Oskar Sundqvist, Joel Edmundson, and Jordan Schmaltz.
On the Toronto Maple Leafs …
Darren Dreger: John Tavares started leaning towards signing with the Maple Leafs on Thursday and Friday. His agent Pat Brisson spent Saturday negotiating with the Maple Leafs.
Michael Augello: Have been some reports that the Maple Leafs are interested in free agent defenseman Calvin de Haan.
