Belle Fraser: The Boston Bruins have activated defenseman Henri Jokiharju from the IR and placed defenseman Hampus Lindholm on the IR.

Walt Ruff: Carolina Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis returned to the lineup last night.

Mark Scheig: Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Erik Gudbranson is out for at least their Western road trip. Defenseman Brendan Smith is out week-to-week.

Dave McCarthy: Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand left last night’s game after the second period with an undisclosed injury.

“He’s been dealing with something,” Maurice said. “It just got the point we didn’t want to make it worse. We’re a little sensitive about injuries here now and do our best to keep guys healthy. So, that was a coach’s decision.”

NHL Injuries: Ducks, Panthers, Kings, Rangers, Islanders, Leafs, Capitals, and More

NHL Rumour Report: David Pagnotta on Hello Hockey on Florida Panthers Aleksander Barkov: “I think there is a little bit of hope that he may come back sooner than originally anticipated, but I still get the sense that it’s playoff time, and we’ll see kind of where they go.”

  • NHL Rumour Report: Pagnotta on Barkov: “The timeline for him to come back, it aligns with the Conference Final; talking to some people…the timeline is still playoffs, but it may be escalated prior to…the Conference Finals.”

Jameson Olive: Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk practiced in a regular jersey.

  • Jameson Olive: Panthers coach Paul Maurice on Tkachuk: “We’re not in full heavy contact with him. … The next box that has to get checked is that he has to be able to get leaned on, push himself, recover for a day or so, see how he goes back on the ice.”

Priyanta Emrith: Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine was skating yesterday morning, but GM Kent Hughes said he’s not ahead of schedule and is on the same original timeline.

Stefen Rosner: New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat (lower-body) is travelling with the team.

Vince Z. Mercogliano: The New York Rangers placed goaltender Igor Shesterkin on the IR with a lower-body injury. He’s still being evaluated, and they’re hopeful it’s not long-term. The Rangers placed defenseman Adam Fox on the LTIR.

  • Vince Z. Mercogliano: “It caught my eye when Fox didn’t come out for the first shift of OT, but I didn’t think too much of it. His last shift ended with 59 seconds in regulation but can’t say I noticed anything injury-related. A jarring turn of events for the #NYR.”

Dan Arritt: Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Jamie Drysdale left in the second period after a collision with Ross Johnston, who was given a major penalty and game misconduct for interference. Flyers forward Bobby Brink left in the first period with an upper-body injury. Flyers forward Matvei Michkov missed last night’s game after blocking a shot with his foot on Saturday.

Dave Molinari: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was on the ice before practice yesterday in a regular jersey.

Seth Rorabaugh: Penguins forward Filip Hallander skated in a no-contact jersey and not with the team.

Nick Barden: Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander (lower-body) skated yesterday morning and remains day-to-day.

NHL Rumors: Edmonton Oilers and Andrew Mangiapane – Ducks and Maple Leafs

Dave McCarthy: Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo returned to the lineup last night. He’d missed the past 23 games with an ankle infection that required surgery.

Nick Barden: Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz (upper-body) was back on the ice yesterday. Coach Craig Berube said that Stolarz is improving, but there remains out indefinitely.
