On the Oilers …

  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli will update Connor McDavid’s injury this morning – whether he’ll be out three weeks or three months. The Oilers aren’t saying if it’s his shoulder or clavicle.
  • Mark Spector of Sportsnet: Sportsnet has learned McDavid’s injury is a broken clavicle or collarbone. Coach Todd McLellan said he’ll be out long-term.

On the Kings …

  • Jon Rosen: Anze Kopitar left last night’s game with an upper body injury.
  • Rich Hammond: Kopitar had three shifts in the first period after the hit.

On the Ducks …

  • Curtis Zupka of the LA Times: Ryan Getzlaf ruled himself out for tonight’s game against the Panthers. He was put on the IR, but is eligible to return at any point.
  • The Ducks put Jiri Sekac on the IR with a sprained right ankle.
  • Josh Manson is practicing with the team and his upper-body injury is progressing, but there is no timetable for his return.

On the Blackhawks …

  • Brian Sandalow: Marian Hossa will be out tonight.

On the Stars …

  • Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: The Stars scratched last night Ales Hemsky as he’s been bothered by a sore hip. He had hip surgery in the offseason.

“He’s been struggling a little bit and we’re trying to get him feeling better,” Ruff said. “It’s hip related. I don’t think this is something that isn’t normal. We had ups and downs with (Klingberg) through his situation. Same thing with Jamie. It’s been pretty good, but playing has taken a little bit of a toll on him, some of the hits. We are just trying to get him back to where he is skating again.”

On the Flyers …

  • Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: Evgeny Medvedev flew back to Philadelphia to have his upper-body injury examined.

“I believe he got hurt in the last game and he told Jimmy last night on the plane,” Hextall said. “That’s the first we knew about it. Literally, no one knew anything. And then on the plane, Jimmy comes up to me and said, ‘Medy’s hurt.’”

GM Ron Hextall doesn’t think it will be long-term.

  • Sam Carchidi: Sean Couturier said that he feels a “lot better and ready to go” and will probably be ready for Thursday.

On the Wild …

  • Wild.com: Tyler Graovac had successful bilateral core muscle repair surgery yesterday and will be out for six weeks.
  • Justin Fontaine will be out four to six weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

On the Canucks …

  • Jon Abbott: Chris Higgins is expecting to play tonight.

On the Bruins …

  • Zack Cox: Defenseman Dennis Seidenberg said that he’s “on schedule, for sure” in his recovery from back surgery. They don’t know when he’ll start taking contact.
  • Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: The Bruins announced that Chris Kelly will be out for six to eight months with a left femur fracture.

“Chris sustained a left femur fracture in the first period of the Bruins/Stars game on Tuesday, November 3 and was transported to Mass General Hospital,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said in a statement. “He will undergo surgery on Wednesday, November 4 at Mass General Hospital and his expected recovery time is between six and eight months.”

From this angle, it’s clear there’s no contact with Kelly’s knee. Looks like it just gives out on him. pic.twitter.com/iSUiIiu7k3
