On the Blues …
- Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: Blues Robby Fabbri will return to the lineup tonight, but defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk isn’t quite ready to return from his groin injury.
“We’re getting there,” he said. “It’s been improving since the injury a lot. These opportunities to skate with the team, to have high-tempo practices with the team, are what I need the most right now. They’re improving each time. I hope it’s soon that I’m going to see the lineup and be able to be out there with the guys.”
On the Blue Jackets …
- Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Blue Jackets Ryan Johansen will miss tonight’s game due to an illness. He’s still undergoing test in Columbus.
“It’s nothing with his heart,” Johansen’s agent, Kurt Overhardt, told The Dispatch on Monday. “He’s just not feeling well, and we’re trying to figure out why. His energy level has been down. There’s no alarm here. We want to do the right thing and make sure he’s 100 percent when he’s on the ice.
“I was with the team brass over the weekend and we had a good conversation and we’re together on this.”
On the Oilers …
- Edmonton Oilers: Oilers Justin Schultz left Sunday’s game in the second period, and the extent of his injury wasn’t clarified yesterday.
“He had an evaluation this morning and we’re awaiting the results. He’s likely not playing tomorrow if he’s not on the plane so we’ll deal with it after that,” Oilers head coach Todd McLellan said, adding that as a result of not knowing the extent of the injury, the next steps haven’t been decided such as whether the team might call another defenceman up.”
On the Islanders …
- Arthur Staple of Newsday: Islanders Thomas Hickey will be out at least a month with a lower-body injury. It’s believed that it’s a left leg injury. He was put on the IR yesterday.
On the Coyotes …
- Craig Morgan: Coyotes Martin Hanzal left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
- Sarah McLellan: Antoine Vermette missed his second consecutive game with a lower-body injury.
On the Canucks …
- News 1130 Sports: Canucks Jacob Markstrom could still be a couple weeks away from returning to the lineup. He could go on a conditioning stint before returning to the Canucks. He injured his hamstring on October 6th.
On the Panthers …
- George Richards: Panthers Aleksander Barkov won’t need surgery on the broken bone in his hand. He’s expected to be out two to four weeks.
- George Richards: Would think the Panthers will put Barkov on the IR retroactive to last Thursday at some point.
On the Maple Leafs …
- Jonas Siegel: Maple Leafs Tyler Bozak: “It’s nothing too serious. I should be able to get back here really soon.”
- Jonas Siegel: Stephane Robidas still remains completely absent from the Maple Leafs. The last time he was on the ice was October 3rd.
On the Red Wings …
- Ansar Khan of MLive: Pavel Datsyuk is bored of skating on his own. He was able skate with teammates before they started line work. His timetable is still mid-November.
- Ansar Khan: Red Wings defenseman Mike Green is out two to three weeks with an upper-body injury. Kyle Quincey is out through the weekend due to concussion protocol.
