Update: Jeremy Rutherford: Jaden Schwartz will be re-evaluated in 12 weeks after having surgery on his fractured ankle.

On the Blues …

  • Tom Timmerman of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: The extent of Blues forward Jaden Schwartz won’t be known until today. Schwartz fell at practice yesterday, crashing into the net and had to be helped off the ice in a lot of pain. He wasn’t putting any pressure on his left leg, and was taken to the hospital.

“It was a pretty innocent thing,” coach Ken Hitchcock said. “We’ll see how serious it is (Saturday), but obviously he couldn’t finish practice. That’s the first alarm bell that goes off, that he couldn’t finish practice. We’ll see in the morning, see if it’s serious or not. I’ve been in it a long time, I’ve never seen that in my life. A warmup drill, the guy goes down.”

“He shot the puck and then the puck bounced off,” Elliott said. “He went to reach back for the rebound, kind of lost his edge and kind of came back into me and into the mesh of the net.”

  • Robby Fabbri practiced yesterday, but won’t be back into the lineup until Tuesday. Fabbri said his concussion symptoms were “in and out” for about a week. While he was out, he also go his wisdom teeth pulled.
  • The Blues have called up Ty Rattie.
  • Kevin Shattenkirk won’t play today, but should be ready for Tuesday.

On the Sharks …

  • Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News: Sharks defenseman Paul Martin practiced yesterday and is expected to play today. He’s missed the past three games with a lower-body injury.
  • Joe Thornton isn’t feeling any effects from his collision with Jake Muzzin on Thursday.  Thornton passed concussion protocol test during the game.

“I don’t know what happened to it, but I just couldn’t get my blade back on the ice. It happens,” Thornton said, adding later with a smile that teammate Mike Brown “had the same thing a couple games earlier. Something’s going on with the steel around here.”

  • Ben Smith (ear laceration) and Joonas Donskoi (lower-body) practiced yesterday. Donskoi is closer to returning than Smith. Donskoi was practicing with Thornton and Joe Pavelski.

On the Penguins …

  • Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Penguins Nick Bonino practiced yesterday, which was less than a day after being hit in the face by Jason Demers.

“So far, the head feels pretty good,” Bonino said after practice. “Face is sore, I think the jaw a little bit. Been hit in the head before. Hopefully, no lasting, lingering stuff.”

On the Red Wings …

  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings defenseman Mike Green left the game early and coach Jeff Blashill didn’t have an update after the game as to whether Green would be able to play today.

On the Stars …

  • Mark Stepneski: Stars Travis Moen (upper-body) skated yesterday, Patrick Eaves (lower-body) is still a few days away from skating.

On the Bruins …

  • DJ Bean: The Bruins have activated Joe Morrow off the IR and assigned Seth Griffith to the AHL.

On the Senators …

  • Don Brennan: Senators coach Dave Cameron said that Mike Hoffman is day-t0-day.

On the Rangers …

  • Andrew Gross: Rangers Derek Stepan was given a maintenance day yesterday – related to his dental work he had done on Wednesday.
