  • Joe Haggerty of the CSNNE: The Bruins put Zdeno Chara on the IR, but he could be eligible to return for their season opener. He suffered an upper-body injury on Sept. 24th, and hasn’t skated with teammates since then.
  • Bob McKenzie: Penguins Pascal Dupuis has an undisclosed injury that is not blood clot related. It will keep him out of the lineup for at least a week.
  • Curtis Zupke: Ducks Jakob Silfverberg didn’t practice yesterday. (he was hit by Raffi Torres on the weekend)
  • Aaron Vickers: Flames Jiri Hudler missed yesterday’s practice with the flu. He also has an injury that he suffered in their last preseason game.
  • Rich Hammond of the OC Register: Kings third line winger Dwight King will be out for “an extended period of time” according to head coach Darryl Sutter. King was injured on Saturday after he blocked a shot. He was seen yesterday on crutches and with a soft boot on his left foot. Both Matt Greene and Jake Muzzin practiced yesterday, but Sutter said they were doubtful. Muzzin was taking regular shifts with Drew Doughty though.
  • Mike Heika: Stars Jamie Benn (hip), Ales Hemsky (hip) and Jason Demers (muscle issue) didn’t practice yesterday, but are expected to practice today.
  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Senators Clarke MacArthur didn’t skate yesterday and is doubtful for their season opener on Thursday in Buffalo. MacArthur missed 20 games last year with a concussion, and is out again with a head injury after a collision on Saturday. The team is a little worried about his situation.

“I don’t know. I haven’t talked to anyone. He didn’t skate. I haven’t talked to any of my guys,” Cameron said Monday.

“It’s always a concern when there’s head injuries — more than one,” Cameron said. “You’re concerned … always concerned.”

Mark Stone left practice yesterday after taking a puck in the hand, but he said that unless something goes wrong with his finger between now and the start of the season, he’ll be in the lineup for their opener.

  • Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Lightning’s Alex Killorn returned to practice yesterday, Tyler Johnson remained out.
