  • Sarah Baicker of CSN Philly: Steve Mason left yesterday’s game in the second period with a lower-body injury.

“He won’t be coming to Montreal, so it’s that serious,” general manager Ron Hextall said, adding that he would be “surprised” if Mason were able to play at all in any of the three games remaining on the Flyers’ current four-game road trip.

He will be reevaluated today. Last time Mason was injured, they called up Rob Zepp, but he is also injured. The Flyers called up Anthony Stolarz.

  • Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Ducks Fredrik Andersen left last night’s game in the third period after he was hit in the back of the head with a falling net. Andersen lied on the ice for several minutes before being helped off the ice.

“It was a bit of a scare,” Boudreau said. “I just talked to him. He said he’s fine. Probably fell on him by surprise, like he wasn’t really (ready for it). He didn’t see it coming because it just all of a sudden came down on him.”

  • Steve Zipay: Rangers Henrik Lundqvist said that he has a strained blood vessel. He is just taking asprin and can start light cardio soon. If he continued playing, he would be in danger of a stroke.
  • Derek Van Diest: Oilers Taylor Hall returned to Edmonton to undergo further evaluation of his injured ankle.
  • Steve Zipay: Rangres Jesper Fast is out two-three weeks with a 1st degree right knee sprain.
  • David Pollak: The Sharks have put Marc-Edouard Vlasic on the IR.
  • Brooks Bratten: Predators Colin Wilson missed yesterday’s game with an upper-body injury.
  • Derek Willis: Flames Curtis Glencross will return to the lineup today.
  • Derek Willis: Flames Brandon Bollig is sick and missed practice yesterday, but is expected to join the team today.
  • Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Keith Yandle will play tonight. Joe Vitale and Martin Hanzal won’t be traveling with the team.
  • New York Islanders: Michael Grabner was put on the IR.
