- Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: Flyers Luke Schenn expects to play tonight. He was a late scratch on Tuesday with an upper-body injury.
“I just tweaked something a little bit and wasn’t able to go in Montreal,” Schenn said. “Actually, today is the best I have felt since the game.
“I feel pretty good and felt surprisingly pretty good waking up this morning and in practice. I should be fine and ready to go .”
- Mike Morreale: Flyers GM Ron Hextall said that Steve Mason had his arthroscopic surgery in his right knee and will be out two to three weeks. Frank Seravalli: Hextall added that Mason’s latest right knee injury is not related to the injury last month. Randy Miller: Rob Zepp is back practicing, but he needs to get into an AHL game before he replaces Anthony Stolarz as the Flyers backup.
- Sam Carchidi: Flyers Michael Raffl is possible for Sunday but not for tonight.
- Tim Panaccio: Braydon Colburn is “unlikely” for tonight, maybe able to go on Sunday.
- Ken Wiebe: Jets Tyler Myers blocked a Shea Weber shot with his left leg and headed off the the dressing room. Josh Cooper: Myers had an ice pack over his left knee, but said he was okay.
- Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: Coyotes Martin Hanzal is likely done for the season as he’ll have back surgery next week. There is only a slight chance he’ll return this year.
- Craig Morgan: Coyotes GM Don Maloney said that Hanzal has battled the injury the past two-three years.
- Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Joe Vitale is getting close to returning. Today is a possibility. Alec Bolduc has a mid-body injury.
- Shawn Mitchell: Blue Jackets James Wisniewski (lower-body) said he’s good to go tonight, but needs to get medical clearance first.
- Alessandro Seren Rosso of The Hockey Writers: (translated interview) It’s been over two months since Valeri Nichushkin had his hip surgery. Recovery is going as planned. He’s been on the ice (first time was Jan. 28th) and have an examination planed for today.
- George Richards: The Panthers may need to recall a defenseman as Dmitry Kulikov may have a leg injury after a late game penalty.
- Bryan Burns: Lightning Cedric Paquette wasn’t in the lineup last night. He’s day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He’s hopeful for Sunday in San Jose.
- Matthew Sekeres: Canucks GM Jim Benning said that Frank Corrado will be out for two to three weeks with an upper-body injury.
