- Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago: Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya left last night’s game in the third period with a lower-body injury. He took a puck off the right leg. He broke his right foot in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals.
- Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch: The Blue Jackets are carrying six defenseman as they don’t have any available roster spots. They have nine players out, with two being defensemen (Ryan Murray and Cody Goloubef). Artem Anisimov (concussion) is progressing but still hasn’t skated.
- Tom Gulitti: Devils Ryane Clowe doesn’t appear to be close to returning from a suspected concussion. Adam Henrique (lower-body) and Jon Merrill (hand/arm) could be close to returning. Rich Chere: Martin Havlat was activated from the IR and Clowe was put on the IR retroactive to Nov. 6th.
- Sarah Baicker of CSN Philly: Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn skated before practice yesterday. He’s still expected to be out a couple weeks with an upper-body injury. Ryan White could be closer to returning that expected. Andrew MacDonald (lower-body) was expected to skate, but didn’t. MacDonald is still expected to be out for two weeks.
- Harvey Fialkov of Sun-Sentinel: Panthers forward Sean Bergenheim is expected to be in the lineup on Friday against the Islanders. David Bolland is expected to play at some point on their road trip. Brandon Pirri has a concussion and hasn’t started skating yet.
- Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago: Blackhawks Daniel Carcillo could return as early as Sunday from his lower-body injury. He’s suffered the injury on Oct. 25th.
- Eric Stephens: Ducks Cam Fowler (lower-body) practiced yesterday. Both Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin (flu) did not practice yesterday. Fowler said he’ll see after their morning skate today if he’ll play or not.
- Josh Yohe: 2015 top draft prospect Connor McDavid is “out indefinitely” with a hand injury (from a fight). Not known if broken, and will see a hand specialist today. John Shannon: The specialist in Toronto will determine if surgery is required.
- Joe Haggerty: Bruins David Krejci won’t be on their two game road trip to Toronto and Montreal.
- Edmonton Oilers: Dallas Eakins on Nail Yakupov’s cut: “It looked scary coming off but he just had a couple stitches in his wrist.”
- Mike Heika: Stars Cody Eakins is close to returning. Travis Moen could arrive today and could be in the lineup on Thursday.
- Joe Smith: Lightning Alex Killorn is hoping to play tomorrow.
- Steve Zipay: Rangers Dan Boyle is hoping to return later this week. Ryan McDonagh is not skating.
- Chuck Gormley: Capitals Brooks Laich and Tom Wilson are possible for Friday.
- Jonas Siegel: Maple Leafs Joffrey Lupul had the cast on his right hand removed yesterday. He’s probably a week away from joining the team.
- Stephen Whyno: Maple Leafs Daniel Winnik had lost consciousness when he crashed to the ice, but he remembers everything. He had no numbness or concussion symptoms.
- Stephen Whyno: Doesn’t sound like Maple Leafs David Booth is close to returning from his broken foot.
- Michael Russo: Wild’s Matt Cooke is not close to returning.
