  • Ken Wiebe: Jets Blake Wheeler left after blocking a Matt Niskanen shot off the inside of his left leg.
  • Arpon Basu: Canadiens Alexei Emelin will be out at least a week, but it could be more. Sergei Gonchar should be back next week. Marc Antoine Godin: Sergei Gonchar was put on the IR.
  • Bob McKenzie: The Canadiens said that Emelin is out at least a week, but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s four to six weeks. He’s tough, so it could be less.
  • Elliotte Friedman: Word is that Oilers Jeff Petry’s rib injury isn’t too serious and that it might just be a few days.
  • Sarah Baicker of CSN Philly:  Flyers Steve Mason’s rehab is on schedule.

“Right on schedule with what we were hoping for in recovery,” Mason said. “I probably still have another week to two weeks to get back into a game, but I think we’re right on track. I skated for the first time, and today was a scheduled day off the ice, just to get let things calm back down. So far, things are going well.”

  • Lance Pugmire: Ducks Frederik Andersen won’t travel with the team on their two-game road trip.
  • ESPN Chicago: Blackhawks Ryan Hartman has a lower-body injury but could play tomorrow.
  • Minnesota Wild: Jared Spurgeon is out tomorrow with an upper-body injury.
  • Mike Heika: Stars Ales Hemsky (lower-body) is still skating.
  • Steve Zipay: Rangers coach Alain Vigeault said that Jesper Fast (sprained knee) should start skating with in a week.
  • Rob Longley: Leafs Joffrey Lupul didn’t travel with the team to Carolina, but is hopeful for Saturday.
  • Kevin Paul Dupont: The Bruins put Kevan Miller on the IR.
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Mikhail Grabovski left with an upper-body injury.
