On the Lightning …
- Eric Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune: Lightning’s Ben Bishop has been dealing with a minor issue for the past four or five games.
“I’ve been dealing with a little something-something, so to be able to hopefully get a couple nights rest … it will be nice. It’s been a grind, but I wouldn’t want it any other way,’’ Bishop said. “Playing eight in a row, plus the last two preseason games, you are talking about 10 games this month, and I had a pretty good run there.’’
- The Lightning recalled Kristers Gudlevskis, giving Bishop the night off.
- Kevin Poulin was put on waivers yesterday.
- Andrei Vasilevskiy will join the team at practice tomorrow and will spend a couple conditioning games in the AHL before he’ll return to the NHL.
- Brian Boyle missed his second game with an undisclosed injury.
“He’s nicked up . . . but I don’t suspect this to be long term thing,’’ Cooper said. “Some of the things that lingered with him in the past . . . and guys get banged up. I don’t expect this to be a weeks.’’
On the Flyers …
- Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: Flyers Michael Raffl passed out on the bench after skating off woozy from a Jarret Stoll elbow. The game was stopped as he was helped up the tunnel by medical staff.
“You never knew what happened,” Mark Streit said. “He just collapsed. Passed out. It was a very scary feeling and guys started to yell. There was a moment there where guys were worried.”
Flyers GM Ron Hextall said after the game that Raffl was “fine,” but wouldn’t say if it was a concussion
“He’s got an upper-body injury. That means from the waist to the top of the head and anywhere in-between. He’s fine. When I say that, I would not say that if he wasn’t fine. Michael’s fine.”
On the Red Wings …
- Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey is out indefinitely with a concussion.
- Mike Green is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
- Brad Richards has been put on the IR with a sore back.
- The Wings are already without Pavel Datsyuk and Johan Franzen.
On the Sabres …
- USA Today: Sabres Evander Kane left last night’s game with a knee injury. Kane had his knee pinned to the boards on a hit from David Schlemko.
- Mike Harrington: Sabres Marcus Foligno missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
On the Senators …
- Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Senators Mike Hoffman needs a little more rest and could be ready for Wednesday’s game. He’s day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
“I said that’s good and I said, ‘You know what my theory is on injuries?’ which I don’t offer very often … I said I played for an old coach one time who said, ‘For every game you miss, you need two bag-skate practices to get back in.’ Hoff all of a sudden was dancing around so I think he’s close.
“I think the odds are good (for Wednesday). He told me he was good and progressing. What that means, I’m not sure.”
On the Ducks …
- Eric Stephens of the OC Register: The Ducks put defenseman Josh Manson on the IR with an upper-body injury. The Ducks are already without defenseman Simon Despres, who was put on the IR on October.
On the Blues …
- Lou Korac: Blues Kevin Shattenkirk and Robby Fabri are expected to back on Tuesday. Will help with their injury situation, but missing Paul Stastny and Jaden Schwartz won’t be easy.
On the Blue Jackets …
- Shawn Mitchell: Blue Jackets Ryan Johansen was sick yesterday and traveled back to Columbus with their assistant trainer.
On the Wild …
- Chad Graff: Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk said that he heard his knee pop in the second period but that it felt okay. He’s not concerned about it, but he admitted that it would likely be sore today.
