- Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press: Mikko Koivu returned on Tuesday night with the team after going to a hospital after he crashed heavily into the board on his second shift against the Blue Jackets. Koivu was able to skate off on his own, but didn’t return to the game. It’s not known yet if he’ll play tonight.
On the New York Rangers …
- Arthur Staple of Newsday: Chris Kreider missed the Rangers last game due to a cut on his right hand, is expected to play on Saturday.
On the Arizona Coyotes …
- Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: Martin Hanzal is expected to return to the lineup tonight after missing 11 of the past 12 games with a lower-body injury.
“We’ll have to monitor his minutes a little bit, but he’s had almost seven or eight days here of real good, hard skating,” coach Dave Tippett said. “Hopefully, he can jump back in and not miss a beat. We miss that big centerman in there that controls the play.”
On the Ottawa Senators …
- Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Milan Michalek is expected to return tonight. He’s been out since November 28th with a broken finger.
- Cody Ceci has been out since December 22nd with an undisclosed injury and is expected to play.
- Mika Zibanejad took a stick to the eye area on Monday is also expected to play.
On the Toronto Maple Leafs …
- Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun: James Reimer could be ready to return from his groin injury.
“(Antoine) Bibeau or Reimer’s playing in L.A., I don’t know (which one),” Babcock said Wednesday following the team’s morning skate at the Honda Center prior to facing the Ducks.
“We’ll see if Reimer gets through today. We’ll see if he’s ready to go and when he’s ready to go. He’s been on the ice forever, you’d think he’s ready, but we’ll see.”
Reimer thinks he’s ready.
“I feel like I’m ready to go, it’s felt good the last few days in practice,” Reimer said. “(In Pittsburgh), it wasn’t a big thing. I just didn’t want to take a chance and play that night and have it set me back three or four weeks.”

- Tom Gulitti: Coach John Hynes said that he’s “not sure” if Mike Cammalleri will be in the lineup on Friday.
