  • Randy Miller of NJ.com: Flyers goalie Steve Mason will have athroscopic surgery on his right knee. He could be sidelined between two and six weeks. It’s his third knee surgery since 2008. Mason injured his knee on January 10th, missing six games.
  • Jeremy Rutherford of St. Louis Post Dispatch: Blues Kevin Shattenkirk had abdominal surgery last week. He’ll continue his rehab in Philadelphia for another week, and then return to St. Louis. The Blues say his recovery is week-to-week, but players who have had the surgery by the same doctor have said it’s six to eight weeks before they start playing again.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Frederik Andersen (head) is day-to-day for now. John Gibson will be recalled if need be according to coach Bruce Boudreau.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Hampus Lindholm (lower-body) will see how he feels today. He skated a bit before practice yesterday.
  • Anaheim Ducks: Ryan Getzlaf left practice early yesterday for a schedule treatment session.
  • Rob Mixer: The Blue Jackets put Ryan Murray on the IR.
  • Mike Morreale: Oilers Benoit Pouliot (foot) missed his third straight game last night.
  • Roger Millions: Flames Brandon Bollig met the team in California yesterday but was still not ready to join the lineup.
  • Scott Powers: Blackhawks Kris Versteeg will likely return on Wednesday.
  • Darren Dreger: Maple Leafs Dion Phaneuf had a bit of a setback on his recovery from a hand injury. Likely out another week.
  • Ken Wiebe: Jets coach Paul Maurice on Matt Halischuk: “We said 4-to-6 weeks or a month or so. We’re not looking for him to be back earlier than that.”
  • Ken Wiebe: Maurice on Bryan Little: “It’s a completely different (issue) and we don’t expect it to be a problem.”
  • Bruce Garrioch: Coach Cameron on Chris Phillips:  “I don’t think he is day to day. He’s probably a week or so.”
  • Chip Alexander: Hurricanes coach Peters is not sure if Ryan Murphy status is day-to-day or week-to-week. Murphy is awaiting MRI results and won’t play Thursday.
  • Ansar Khan: The Red Wings will carry three goalies for now. Johan Franzen on the IR creates an extra roster spot.
  • Shawn Mitchell: Blues Jackets Dalton Prout and James Wisniewski could return by the end of the week, according to Todd Richards.
