On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

  • Jonathan Bombulie of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review: Nick Bonino suffered an upper-body injury on Tuesday night and returned to Pittsburgh yesterday for further evaluation. Bombulie is speculating that it could be weeks over days. The Penguins will shift Eric Fehr to center on the third line with Tom Kuhnhackl and Bryan Rust. Sergei Plotnikov could center Kevin Porter and Matt Cullen.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

  • Jon Abbott: Jannick Hansen skated yesterday in a no-contact jersey. Head coach Willie Desjardins said that Hansen is day-to-day and isn’t expected to play on tonight.
  • TSN Radio Vancouver: Desjardins said that Hansen and Luca Sbisa are “close” to returning to the lineup. Sbisa could play tonight.
  • TSN Radio Vancouver: Desjardins said that Ryan Miller is “ready, and will have to get a start pretty soon”

On the St. Louis Blues …

  • Lou Korac: Coach Ken Hitchcock said they are erring on the side of caution with Paul Stastny. Said that he didn’t feel that great on Tuesday, but good enough to be out there skating yesterday.
  • Lou Korac: Hitchcock didn’t rule Stastny out for tonight’s game, but didn’t say that he is ready to go either. Still day-to-day.

On the San Jose Sharks …

  • Sharks.NHL: Dainius Zubrus was put on the IR and Raffi Torres has sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

  • Edmonton Oilers: Head coach Todd McLellan yesterday on Nail Yakupov: “Yak should be good tomorrow. I expect him to play.”

On the Nashville Predators …

  • Adam Vingan: The Predators put forward Colin Wilson on the IR with a lower-body injury retroactive to January 8th.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

  • Hockey’s Cap: The Jets put Mark Scheifele on the IR retroactive to January 7th and have recalled Matt Halischuk.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

  • Eric Engels: Forward Dale Weise is getting closer to returning. Rehabbing right thumb injury from the Winter Classic game.

On the Boston Bruins …

  • Nichols Goss: David Pastrnak missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury and his day-to-day.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

  • Columbus Blue Jackets: Defenseman David Savard left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.
