On the Penguins …

  • Dave Molinari: Pascal Dupuis practiced yesterday. It seems that whatever tests were performed on Dupuis when he returned to Pittsburgh detected no blood clot-related problems.
  • Seth Rorabaugh: Coach Mike Johnston said that Pascal Dupuis has been cleared to practice, but would still needs clearance for a game. Johnston expects him to play on Wednesday.

On the Canadiens …

  • Matt Cudzinowski of Canadiens.com: Carey Price left Montreal yesterday to get his lower-body injury evaluated. An update is expected to be made after today’s practice.

On the Lightning …

  • Tampa Bay Lightning: Ondrej Palat will be out three to five weeks with a lower-body injury.
  • Joe Smith: Palat was wearing a brace on his left ankle and said that he won’t need surgery.

On the Sharks …

  • Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News: Melker Karlsson will likely make his season debut tonight. He’s been out since the start of training camp with a lower-body injury. He practiced on their third line with Tommy Wingels and Matt Neito, and was on their second power play unit.
  • Coach Pete DeBoer said that Logan Couture is making progress:  “He’s making strides, he’s here, he’s exercising and he’s walking. But the finish line is still in the distance.”
  • Ben Smith, out with an upper-body injury, is unavailable for tonight.

On the Wild …

  • Chad Graff: Coach Mike Yeo said that Zach Parise will likely be out for two more weeks – probably the next five games.
  • Michael Russo: Marco Scandella isn’t playing tonight due to personal reasons. The Wild are bringing his equipment on the road with them, but it’s not known when he’ll return.

On the Ducks …

  • Curtis Zupke: Rickard Rakell skate by himself yesterday. Nate Thompson said that he’s a week or two way from taking some contact. There is nothing new to report for Simon Despres.

On the Flyers …

  • Dave Isaac: R.J. Umberger didn’t practice yesterday. He blocked a shot with his foot in their last game. GM Ron Hextall said that Umberger was given a “maintenance day.”

On the Red Wings …

  • Ansar Khan: Pavel Datsyuk said that he’s not ready to return for tonight’s game.
  • Ansar Khan: Brendan Smith was sick yesterday and his status for tonight is uncertain.

On the Rangers …

  • Andrew Gross of The Record: Rick Nash returned to practice yesterday and expects to play tonight. He’s missed the past two games with a back issue.

On the Panthers …

  • George Richards: Dave Bolland (hand) practiced yesterday. He’s missed the past two games.

On the Maple Leafs …

  • David Alter: Daniel Winnik left the ice before practice started yesterday.
  • Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun: Jonathan Bernier has missed the Leafs last four games with a lower-body injury. He practiced yesterday for the first time since suffering the injury on Oct. 31st.

“Today was a pretty good day compared to Saturday (when he skated by himself),” Bernier said. “It’s getting better every day, so it is tough to say what is really the timeline.

“I’m coming on the trip (to Dallas and Nashville), so we will just keep getting treatment and go day by day.”

  • Coach Mike Babcock said that Dion Phaneuf missed practice with the flu yesterday.
