On the Islanders …

  • Arthur Staple: No update yesterday on Mikhail Grabovski and his upper-body injury.

On the Lightning …

  • Joe Smith: Tyler Johnson, Jonathan Drouin and Cedric Paquette are all considered day-to-day. More could be known at practice today. Yesterday was an off day.

On the Coyotes …

  • Sarah McLellan: Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann won’t play tomorrow. Coach Dave Tippett: “He’s still coming, still day-to-day, but he’s moving in the right direction.”

On the Flyers …

  • Tim Panaccio: Goaltender Michal Neuvirth is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

On the Sabres …

  • John Vogl: Evander Kane: “I’m ahead of the schedule they set, behind the one I set. … I felt good.” He should be ready to go soon.

On the Maple Leafs …

  • Jonas Siegel: Nick Spaling missed last night’s game with an injury. Mike Babcock said that he wasn’t able to make many faceoffs on Sunday because of the injury.

On the Blues …

  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: Jori Lehtera was high sticked in the mouth, then left the game later in the first after taking a Brandon Saad high stick.

“We’re not sure,” Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said. “We’ll evaluate him and tell you (Wednesday).”

David Backes said the stick was to the throat area.

“It was stick in the throat. Hopefully he’ll be all right and we won’t be missing another high-end forward. Whatever happens, we’ve got to move forward. We’ve got another tough game Thursday.”

Rookie defenseman Colton Parayko missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
