- The Sabres will be without goalie Robin Lehner for six to 10 weeks with a high ankle sprain.
“We were waiting for the MRI and waiting for a prognosis but you know with the symptoms, you had an idea what the injury was,” Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said. “It’s not a complete surprise to get the results and have that be the time frame.”
- Brian Gionta (lower-body) practiced with the Sabres for the first time since early last week and is hopeful for today.
- Brendan Guhle (upper-body) practiced with the team, but there is no plan to get into his first NHL game just yet.
- Zach Bogosian (lower-body) has been skating on his own, but coach Dan Bylsma said there is no timetable for him to get back into the lineup.
