Amy Mortiz of the Buffalo News: On the Sabres …

  • The Sabres will be without goalie Robin Lehner for six to 10 weeks with a high ankle sprain.

“We were waiting for the MRI and waiting for a prognosis but you know with the symptoms, you had an idea what the injury was,” Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said. “It’s not a complete surprise to get the results and have that be the time frame.”

  • Brian Gionta (lower-body) practiced with the Sabres for the first time since early last week and is hopeful for today.
  • Brendan Guhle (upper-body) practiced with the team, but there is no plan to get into his first NHL game just yet.
  • Zach Bogosian (lower-body) has been skating on his own, but coach Dan Bylsma said there is no timetable for him to get back into the lineup.

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: On the Bruins …

  • Coach Claude Julien said that Zdeno Chara is “questionable” for today against the Lightning. He took part in practice again yesterday and didn’t appear to be limited in any of their battle drills and breakouts. He worked with the power play unit as well.

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: On the Bruins …

  • Coach Julien confirmed after practice yesterday that Brad Marchand is out with a concussion after taking an inadvertent elbow from Dale Weise. There is no timetable for his return.
  • The Bruins have put Matt Irwin on waivers

Dan Murphy: On the Canucks …

  • Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said that Jacob Markstrom is coming along “quicker than expected.” Alex Edler traveled to California. Chris Higgins is on schedule for his four to six weeks recovery.

Michael Russo of the Star Tribune: On the Wild …

  • Jason Zucker didn’t take part in the Wild’s practice yesterday as he was given a maintenance day.
  • Tyler Graovac also missed practice with what Russo believes to be a hip flexor issue.
