  • Frank Servalli of the Philadelphia Daily News: Flyers Wayne Simmonds and Andrew MacDonald are done for the season after suffering fractures. Simmonds suffered a left leg injury and MacDonald was hit in the right hand with a shot.
  • Josh Yohe: Penguins Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist are out tonight. They could play this weekend.
  • Dave Isaac: The Flyers say that Shayne Gostisbehere is done for the season, as they feared for a couple weeks.
  • Jeremy Rutherford: The Blues believed that both Kevin Shattenkirk and Carl Gunnarsson will be able to play on Saturday.
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Erik Cole (upper-body) will miss at least the next three games. Niklas Kronwall (lower-body) and Pavel Datsyuk (lower-body) could play tonight according to GM Ken Holland.
  • Joanne Ireland: Oilers Mark Fayne left last night’s game with a shoulder injury.
  • Elliott Pap: Canucks coach Willie Desjardin on Brad Richardson (ankle):  “He can only play when he’s ready. He’s close and hopefully we’ll see him pretty soon.”  Brad Richards: “You’re not back to square one, but it’s a setback and you have to sit again. So it sucks.”
  • Vancouver Canucks: Desjardins thinks that Jannik Hansen and Alex Burrows will be able to go tonight. Adam Clendening has been sent to the AHL.
  • Jon Rosen: Kings Tanner Pearson said that he still needs another x-ray and added: “I think we’re getting pretty close. I don’t see anything happening on this road trip”
  • Jim Matheson: Not a surprise that Oilers Andrew Ference has a concussion.
  • Sam Carchidi: Blackhawks Kimmo Timonen is still working out the rust and admits that he pulled his groin in his first game.
  • Mike Harrington: If they get medical clearance, Zach Bogosian and Patrick Kaleta could get  back into the lineup.
