  • Jeremy Rutherford: Blues Paul Stastny is out week-to-week with a shoulder injury.
  • Steve Zipay: Rangers Dan Girardi is day-to-day after receiving some stitches from blocking a shot.
  • Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Bay Tribune: Victor Hedman “could miss a significant amount of time” with his hand injury. There is speculation that it could be broken.
  • Craig Morgan: Coyotes Martin Hanzal’s lower-body injury is believed to be short-term, more will be known after practice today.
  • Shawn Mitchell: The Blue Jackets put Curtis McElhinney on the IR with an upper-body injury. He’s expected to be out a week. They’ve recalled Anton Forsberg. Mitchell notes that it’s a head/neck injury.
  • Lance Hornby: The Maple Leafs are saying that Brandon Kozun has a high ankle sprain and will be out at least a month and a half.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals Brooks Laich’s agent won’t say anything about his injury expect that “it is not serious.”
  • Mark Lazerus of Chicago Sun-Times: Blackhawks Kris Versteeg is back skating with the team after being out with a lower-body injury since two days before the start of the season. There is still no date set for him to return to the lineup, but he appears to be ahead of the initial three-week prognosis.
  • Harvey Fialkov: Panthers David Bolland is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
