  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Blues Paul Stastny had his left arm in a sling after last night’s game. He took a hit by Coyotes Martin Hanzel, and another later that shift and didn’t return. The Blues are just saying it’s an upper-body injury.

“He’s not going to play (Sunday) and then we’ll just see,” Hitchcock said. “He took a hit there and he’s kind of day-to-day and then we’ll just see where we’re at.”

  • Joe Smith: Lightning’s Victor Hedman left last night game in the second period with an upper-body injury. Head coach Jon Cooper said that he’ll miss at least the remaining four games of their road trip. He’ll be heading back to Tampa for re-evaluation on a suspected hand injury. Radko Gudas is expected back soon, so they likely won’t need to call anyone up.

“We’re hoping for the best,” Cooper said. “It’s unfortunate, clearly. We’re going to test our depth. It just puts a little more pressure on our d-core as a whole. I just really feel for him. It’s just too bad.”

  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Mikhail Grabovski woke up on Friday on with concussion symptoms after he passed concussion tests Thursday night. He’ll be evaluated early next week.
  • Boston Bruins: Bruins defesneman Kevan Miller has an upper-body injury from a first period fight.
  • Dhiren Mahiban of Pro Hockey Talk: Capitals Brooks Laich left in the third period after with what looked like a left shoulder injury.
  • Helene St. James: The Red Wings put Jimmy Howard (groin) on the 48-hour IR. He’s day-to-day, but groin injuries usually take a week to 10 days.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray is a “possibility” for them at some point on their road trip.
  • Ryan Rishaug: Oilers Viktor Fasth could start skating in the next week or so.
  • Dan Murphy: Sami Salo had wrist surgery and it will probably be the end of his playing career.
