On the New Jersey Devils …

  • Tom Gulitti of the Record: Mike Cammalleri has an upper-body issue and coach John Hynes isn’t sure if he’ll be able to play tonight. He didn’t practice yesterday, but skated on his own.

“We’re just trying to make sure he feels well enough to play and we’re not going to push it,” Hynes said. “We have a lot of games coming up and we want to make sure we’re doing the right thing for the player and the team.”

Patrik Elias hasn’t skated since December 21st, but his right knee is making some progress.

“He’s still going through the process of his rehab and it’s touch and go on how it feels,” Hynes said. “It looks like he’s making some progression, but not enough  (to get back on the ice).”

The status of Jacob Josefson’s sore left foot is still not known.

“It’s probably going to be another couple days until we have a real good idea what it is,” Hynes said.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

  • Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province: Forward Brandon Prust is out with a left leg injury after a collision with Ryan Kesler.
  • Sven Baertschi (neck) and Ryan Miller (groin) are day-to-day. Luca Sbisa (hand) is closer to returning than Brandon Sutter (sports hernia) and Dan Hamhuis (face).

On the Buffalo Sabres …

  • John Vogl of the Buffalo News: Tyler Ennis is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

  • Winnipeg Jets: Mark Scheifele was activated from the IR yesterday and Matt Halischuk was re-assigned to the AHL.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

  • Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: Zbynek Michalek is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
  • Boyd Gordon (upper-body) and Martin Hanzal (lower-body) are a possibility for tonight.

On the Detroit Red Wings …

  • Brendan Savage: Defenseman Kyle Quincey is hoping to return on Thursday.

On the Boston Bruins …

  • Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Center Joonas Kemppainen has been out for almost a month with an upper-body injury, is close to returning to the lineup. He’s been skating for about a week .

“It’s really nice to practice with the team. I’ve been skating for about a week, so it’s nice to get back on the ice. It’s getting better with every practice, so hopefully I’m back in the games soon,” said Kemppainen.

Kemppainen still hasn’t been cleared to return.

“He’s close to being available,” said Julien. “I haven’t been told that he’s in for sure, but he’s pretty close .”
