  • Chris Hine and Stacy St. Clair of the Chicago Tribune: Blackhawks Patrick Kane.

“While I have too much respect for the legal process to comment on an ongoing matter, I am confident that once all the facts are brought to light, I will be absolved of having done nothing wrong,” Kane said.

Blackhawks John McDonough on allowing Kane to attend camp.

“We had conversations with Patrick’s legal representatives,” McDonough said. “I do not know who else they have been in contact with. I imagine it has been thorough and comprehensive.”

  • Arpon Basu: Tomas Fleischmann: “I think what happened this summer was a surprise to every free agent”
  • Igor Eronko: Martin Erat has signed a one-year deal with Avangard of the KHL.
  • Sarah McLellan: Coyotes coach Dave Tippett hopes to get their camp numbers down to 30-35 before they leave for Canada for games on the 28th and 29th.
  • Slava Malamud: The KHL will be making Slava Voynov a salary cap exempt players, guaranteeing that Voynov will be getting a huge contract.
  • Steve Zipay: Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said that one decision they’ll have is whether to play Kevin Hayes at center or on the wing on their third line.
  • Ken Warren: Senators Shane Prince would need to clear waivers if he’s assigned to the AHL: “I’m not here to try and make the team based on a technicality. I’m here to make the team because I earn it.”
  • Chris Johnston: Not looking like Olli Jokinen will be at anyone’s training camp this week.
  • Jeremy Rutherford: The Blues will be making a few changes to their system and will be playing a little more up-tempo. One top line possibility is Alex Steen, Paul Stastny, and Vladimir Tarasenko.
