Morning Hits: Roenick and the Alligator, E. Kane and Burmistrov

Jeremy Roenick attempts to tackle an alligator.

  • Randy Miller of NJ.com: Roenick on his attempt.

“I just wish I would have grabbed it,” he told NJ Advance Media on Monday night. “That would have been great. I had my hand on it! It was close.”

On if he was scared as alligators can kill.

“Well, I think’s a misconception,” Roenick said. “I think if you jump on a gator’s mouth, that can happen. But if you jump on a gator where they can’t eat you, you’re OK. If it would have turned around, I would have started running in circles.”

  • Ken Campbell of The Hockey News: Sabres Evander Kane:

“Yeah, I asked for a trade every off-season in Winnipeg,”

Kane said that he’d been asking for a trade since the summer of 2012. Making requests in the summers of 2013 and 2014. He was finally traded last year. Kane admits that he wasn’t a good fit in Winnipeg, but added that rumors got out of control. He did acknowledge that he didn’t help things out with some of the things he did on social media.
