  • Bob McKenzie: The Devils put Damien Brunner on waivers. The Coyotes put Kyle Chipchura waivers.
  • Tom Gulitti: Lou Lamoirello said if Brunner clears waivers, he could still play today.
  • Sarah McLellan: Conditions on the draft pick the Coyotes sent to the Penguins is if Philip Samuelsson plays 40 or more games for the Coyotes this season.
  • Dhiren Mahiban of Pro Hockey Talk: from Insider Trading video, when Ducks John Gibson returns from his groin injury, he be sent to the AHL, where he’ll play most of the season.
  • Arthur Staple of Newsday: The Islanders put Travis Hamonic on the IR. Both Hamonic and Johnny Boychuk won’t be playing anytime soon.
  • Chad Graff: Wild’s Matt Cooke (lower-body) is still a couple week away from returning.
  • David Pagnotta: Flames Joe Colborne and Mason Raymond are close to returning. Matt Stajan returning tonight according to coach Hartley.
  • Shelly Anderson: Penguins Patric Hornqvist, Kris Letang, Beau Bennett and Chris Kunitz didn’t practice yesterday.
  • Mark Masters: Maple Leafs Leo Komarov (suspected concussion) didn’t practice yesterday. Not a good sign considering he skated the day before.
  • NY Rangers: Tanner Glass (mumps) skated yesterday.
  • Helene Elliott: Ducks Emerson Etem has the mumps and has missed the last three games.
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Stephen Weiss (groin) and Justin Abdelkader (shoulder) didn’t skate yesterday.
  • Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Ducks Corey Perry suffered a knee injury last night after being hip checked by Wild’s Keith Ballard. There was no update, but he will travel with the team to Winnipeg and will be re-evaluated there.
