Murky Max Pacioretty Rumors and Notes From The Draft Weekend
Confusing reports on what did/didn't happen with regards to a potential Max Pacioretty trade from the Montreal Canadiens to the Los Angeles Kings.

At the draft last weekend the Los Angles Kings and Montreal Canadiens were talking about a potential Max Pacioretty trade. Reports were that a deal had been worked out but needed Pacioretty to agree to a contract extension.

An extension was included in the offer, and obviously, since he’s still with the Canadiens, it was rejected.

There has also been some talk that an extension offer may not have been given.

It was also rumored that the San Jose Sharks made an offer to the Canadiens for Pacioretty.

Here are a collection of notes on what may, or may not have happened over the draft weekend.

David Pagnotta: On Pacioretty: “This time of year is filled with misinformation, and sometimes it’s nobody’s fault when that info from good sources gets out. I’m guilty of it too. My next post is what I know to be completely accurate in Pacioretty situation last few days:”

David Pagnotta: “I can say with absolute certainty after checking with numerous sources that there was no deal in place to send Pacioretty to LA or SJ, and neither team ever received permission to negotiate with Pacioretty camp(s) at any time.”

Brian Wilde: “I don’t know the sources for the people who are saying that Max had an LA deal, but I do know my work on it. I had heard rumblings so I made calls and texts. then did work on it too and he got it practically from the horse’s mouth that there was nothing to it.”

Brian Wilde: “I don’t know Pagnotta but he’s The Fourth Period too. source that he shared with me is 100 legit & it’s definitely his business to not share that source. But it’s firm. That doesn’t mean the other people don’t think they’re right either. Sometimes you never know fully.’

Brian Wilde: “The bottom line is there doesn’t always have to be a demon in the mix. Sometimes this all can be a murky thing, and no one mostly, especially quality people like Elliotte and Dennis have any malice or don’t wish to be 100 accurate with what they’ve learned.”
