Joe McDonald: Calgary Flames forward Blake Coleman left last night’s game in the third period for precautionary reasons. Coach Ryan Huska said after the game he didn’t think it was serious, but didn’t have an update.

“I don’t have anything right now. I think he’s probably just a little bit sore and not anything we wanted to push at that time.”

Pat Steinberg: Flames defenseman Zayne Parekh is day-to-day with an upper-body injury that he suffered in the World Juniors semifinal game.

Blackhawks Focus: Darren Pang hinted that Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard could be ready to return tonight.

NHL Rumors: Flames Defense and the Future of Mackenzie Weegar

Forward Gabriel Landeskog is going to be out for weeks with an upper-body injury.

  • Evan Rawal: Bednar said they expect Toews to be back before the Olympics. Landeskog’s return could be close to the Olympics, and that it will be 100% up to Landeskog if he plays for Team Sweden.

CBJ Public Relations: Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Brendan Smith has surgery to repair a torn meniscus and is out for three to four months.

David Dwork: Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand was held out of last night’s game as a precaution. He’s listed as day-to-day.

  • Jameson Olive: Panthers coach Paul Maurice hasn’t ruled Marchand out for Saturday’s game.

Stefen Rosner: New York Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov is progressing very well, according to GM Mathieu Darche, but added that the earliest he’d return is during the playoffs.

Dan Rosen: New York Rangers forward J.T. Miller returned to the lineup after missing the past seven games with an upper-body injury.
