On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Chris Johnston: Goaltender Frederik Andersen left last night’s game early with an upper-body injury.

Chris Johnston: Coach Mike Babcock said that the Sabres doctor thought that Andersen should be pulled from the game.

Chris Johnston: Forward Josh Leivo missed last night’s game.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty: Goaltender Tuukka Rask missed yesterday’s game with a lower-body injury. Rask said that when he got to their practice facility yesterday morning he “didn’t feel like he’d be able to go.”

On the Florida Panthers …

George Richards: Coach/GM Tom Rowe said that Jaromir Jagr‘s lower-body injury isn’t too serious and that he’s questionable for tomorrow’s game.

George Richards of the Miami Herald: Defenseman Aaron Ekblad isn’t traveling with the team and will remain in Florida after complaining of a “sore neck” after a game last week. He had missed their previous four games with a concussion, but had clearance from doctors to return. Coach/GM Tom Rowe regrets playing Ekblad in Tuesday’s game.

“I’ve have a lot more experience in this business than he does,” Rowe said. “I have had a ton of experience with those types of injuries. I usually give those guys two or three days of practice and I wish I had done that. It’s no one’s fault but my own.”

On the New York Islanders …

Arthur Staple: Coach Doug Weight on Nikolai Kulemin: “hopefully won’t be too long.”

On the Carolina Hurricanes …

Michael Smith: Coach Bill Peters said that forward Valentin Zykov is “getting closer” to returning.

On the New Jersey Devils …

Andrew Gross of The Record: Forwards Michael Cammalleri and Jacob Josefson skated with teammates yesterday morning and are hopeful to return to the lineup before the end of the season.

“It seems my shoulder is on schedule to have me healthy with some games remaining,” Cammalleri said. “We’ll see what happens.”

Josefson is hopeful but coach John Hynes said nothing is imminent.

“I’d like to get back in some games before the season ends,” Josefson added. “I felt OK today so I hope that progress keeps going forward.”

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: Forward Mark Stone returned to the lineup last night. Forward Viktor Stalberg has an upper-body injury and missed last night’s game. The Senators were are also without Marc Methot, who has a broken finger.
