On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Bryan Burns: Defenseman Jason Garrison practiced yesterday. He’s been out for two games with a a lower-body injury.

Joe Smith: Forwards Jonathan Drouin and Ryan Callahan were both on the ice at practice yesterday.

Joe Smith: If ready, Callahan can come off the IR. He’s missed the past four games with a lower-body injury.

Joe Smith: Callahan said his surgically repaired hip had been nagging him.

On the Detroit Red Wings …

Ansar Khan: The Red Wings activated Jimmy Howard from the IR and returned Jared Coreau and Tomas Nosek to the AHL.

On the Ottawa Senators …

TSN 1200: Coach Guy Boucher said that Clarke MacArthur has been cleared for contact in practice.

Philadelphia Flyers …

Sam Carchidi: Looking like Michael Del Zotto could be out tonight as Radko Gudas is ready to return to the lineup.

On the New York Rangers …

New York Rangers: After an MRI yesterday, Rick Nash will be out a week.

Ken Wiebe: Jimmy Vesey is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Justin Tasch: The Rangers put Matt Puempel on the IR with a concussion and recall Nicklas Jensen.

On the Boston Bruins …

Mark Divver: Noel Acciari was skating with the Providence Bruins yesterday morning.

On the Washington Capitals …

Tarik El-Bashir: T.J. Oshie returned to the lineup last night.

Tarik El-Bashir: Defenseman Matt Niskanen didn’t return for the start of the second period.
