Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Forward Steven Stamkos has been skating with the team that past few weeks, and even traveled with the team last week. There is still no timetable on his return.
“We’re not even in a spot to sit here and throw a date on him,” coach Jon Cooper said.
Mid-March would be the four month mark. He was expected to be out four to six months.
On the New Jersey Devils …
Andrew Gross of the Record: Defenseman Andy Greene didn’t travel with the team due to a family reason, but could join the team mid-trip. Michael Cammalleri (shoulder) and Jacob Josefson (upper-body) also didn’t travel with the team. Damon Severson (upper-body) and Miles Wood (lower-body) traveled with the team but are expected to be out short-term.

Jesse Dougherty and Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post: Forward Andre Burakovsky has been out since February 9th with a right hand injury, but is getting closer to returning. He’ll probably travel with the team on their road trip.
“He’s doing good, he’s skating,” Trotz said. “I anticipate him probably joining us maybe on this trip a little bit for practice. If he does come out it will probably be noncontact for a little while here, but he’s progressing really well. We had to determine if he’d make the trip or stay back.
“I think based on where he is that he will probably, and give me a little leeway, that he will probably be joining us on the trip. We’ll say that he’ll practice and do the morning skates and stuff like that.”
