George Sipple: Coach Jeff Blashill will speak with trainers after Justin Abdelkader and Mike Green are evaluated, then will decide whether they will play tonight.
Ansar Khan: Defenseman Niklas Kronwall is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He’s not sure when he’ll start skating or return to the lineup, but it’s not expected to be long-term.

Andrew Gross: Coach John Hynes said that Andy Greene (left arm) will be traveling with the team on their four-game road trip.
On the Buffalo Sabres …
John Vogl of the Buffalo News: Forward Tyler Ennis is getting close to returning to the lineup. He had his most intense practice since having sports hernia/groin surgery back in early November. He could return later this week.
“It was a good practice, some hard work,” Ennis said. “I’m just trying to get those drills in, get the compete level up, get those battle drills in and get the body back to game readiness again.
“I’m getting close. I just need a few more sessions like that and just continue to get better. I’m excited to get going.”
Winger William Carrier has missed two games with an illness, returned to practice yesterday.
Defenseman Josh Gorges didn’t practice due to a hip issue.
Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has been absent since December 27th due to a back injury.
“Gorges with the hip injury, he’s day-to-day,” Bylsma said. “Kulikov, I’d like to list him at day-to-day, but it’s been more like weeks at this point. It’s more than a week now. He is improving a little bit and hopefully continues to improve and gets back with us here shortly.”

Harvey Fialkov: Coach Tom Rowe said that Greg McKegg is 50-50 for tomorrow’s game, but Seth Griffith is more likely.
Mike Morreale: Rowe didn’t update on Denis Malgin after the game. Malgin left the game in the 1st period after being hit by Pavel Zacha.
