On the Colorado Avalanche …

Terry Frei of the Denver Post: Avs goaltender Semyon Varlamov has two years left on his deal at a $5.9 million cap hit, and GM Joe Sakic expects him to be fine next year.

“I expect him to be fully healthy next year,” Sakic said. “He’s had the probems with his groin the last couple of years, and this year, but he’s a worker, he cares, he’s a guy who puts a lot of pressure on that area the way he plays. We’re very confident by doing this procedure, he’s going to be back where he once was. I think it’s going to be a lot better mentally for him, that he’s not one push away from pulling his groin.”

They are confident he’ll be 100 percent next year.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Lou Korac: Paul Stastny will practice today, and if he goes well, he could play on Saturday.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Craig Morgan: Goaltender Louis Domingue is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Jeff Hamilton of the Winnipeg Free Press: Defenseman Toby Enstrom underwent surgery yesterday morning and is expected to be out for at least two weeks. Coach Paul Maurice didn’t say what the surgery was for, but sources saying it was to fix a nagging foot injury.

“Just got to the point where we thought the rehab on it would be at least that long and at the end we still wouldn’t know if we had a healthy player,” Maurice said.

Forward Andrew Copp isn’t travelling with the team and is day-to-day.

Defenseman Tyler Myers is rehabbing from groin surgery.

Forward Marko Dano skated again with the team, but was wearing a no-contact jersey.

The Jets currently only have 12 forwards, but their AHL team is playing in Toronto this week, so they are close. The Jets play in Montreal on Saturday, Ottawa on Sunday and Toronto on Tuesday.
