On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens: The Ducks activated goaltender Ryan Miller from the IR and he could/should get the start today.

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Defenseman Sami Vatanen returned the Ducks lineup after missing their first nine games of the season. Vatanen had shoulder surgery back in May.

Cam Fowler will be out for at least three more weeks. Kevin Bieksa is out with a hand injury for an undetermined period.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports: The Coyotes have traded a fifth-round pick to the New Jersey Devils for goaltender Scott Wedgewood.

“We just need someone to stop the puck,” general manager John Chayka said. “We’d been looking at some depth goalies for a while. Certainly, as things progressed here we thought it was necessary to get someone in here that had some experience and had some success at the American Hockey League level.”

Antti Raanta is getting close to returning to the lineup. GM John Chayka said that they could end up keeping three goaltenders for a while, but they don’t have to make that decision just yet.

The Coyotes returned Adin Hill to the AHL.

On the Calgary Flames …

Kristen Odland: Coach Glen Gulutzan on Jaromir Jagr: “He’s real close. He skated (Friday) for the first time with the team. We’ll look at Sunday or possibly after that….”

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Mike Chambers: The Avalanche put Gabriel Bourque and Colin Wilson on the IR and recalled forwards Andrew Agozzino and Rocco Grimaldi.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Chris Johnston: The Canadiens put Martin Reway on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Eric Engels: “Reway’s attempt at a return to North American hockey following life-threatening illness appears to be on hold with this news.”

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch: The Senators send Filip Chlapik and Max McCormick to the AHL.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Adam Kimelman: Forward Nolan Patrick missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury.
