On the Vancouver Canucks …
Rick Dhaliwal: Alexander Kerfoot on Vancouver radio that the Canucks have interest in him (Devils property and is from Vancouver area): “it’s exciting, I grew up a Canucks fan and I still follow them but at this time I’m just focused on Harvard and my plan is to meet with the Devils after the season. It was a dream to play for the #Canucks growing up but I’m property of NJ & I’m not looking past the Devils at this point.”
On the Montreal Canadiens, Andrei Markov Alexander Radulov …
Eric Engels: Back on February 22nd, Elliotte Friedman reported in his 30 Thoughts that Alex Radulov was looking for a six- to eight-year contract.
TSN 690 Radio: Tony Marinaro on 690 talking about the Montreal Canadiens pending free agents Andrei Markov and Alexander Radulov.
Markov’s agent has said that Markov wants to play his 1,000th game in a Canadiens jersey. He’s at 979 regular season games and wouldn’t hit 1,000 this year. Markov wants to be back and finish his career in Montreal. Agent Berezin has said that the Canadiens and Markov haven’t talked about a contract yet and that it will happen this offseason. Sources telling Marinaro in an ideal world Markov would like a two year deal and would take a discount. He’s currently making $5.75 million this year.
Marinaro then starts talking about pending unrestricted free agent Alex Radulov. He’s currently on a one-year, $5.75 million deal. Marinaro says that he doesn’t know the type of money that Radulov is looking for, but says that Radulov’s agent has spoken with the Canadiens and that he’s looking for an eight-year deal. They spoken more than once and Radulov’s camp hasn’t moved from eight years. It’s still early on and things could change. Marinaro guesses that would be looking for at least his current $5.75 million that he is making for this season.
